Veranstaltungsbeschreibung: An introductory class to anti-colonial narratives through the medium of text and film. Opening the session with Ursula K. LeGuin’s “Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction”, we will engage in a seminar discussion of materials we read and watch in class, alongside making our own carrier of fiction with each of the participants and in a group. The class will be held in English and will cover works by Ursula K. LeGuin, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Edouard Glissant, Claire Denis and others.

Prüfungsleistung: To pass the class the students will be assessed on their attendance and participation in class throughout the duration of the course: presence, reading texts and contribution to seminar discussion, and writing exercise as we go along
