Veranstaltungsname: Polytope XIa: Audiovisuelle Performance
Veranstaltungsbeschreibung: The composer, architect and multimedia artist Iannis Xenakis (1922-2001) created spectacular interdisciplinary works with his series Polytopes. On the occasion of his 100th birthday we are planning a new project in the spirit of Xenakis called Polytope XIa, with including current technologies and concepts of immersion and interaction. The project is to be presented in autumn in the newly built XIa storage facility. This course is based on the two courses “Klangräume nach Xenakis” by Prof. Kilian Schwoon and “Bildräume nach Xenakis” with Prof. Dennis Paul and should be selected to accompany one of the two. In this course we want to develop the ideas and prototypes from the two parallel courses towards a performance at the opening of the Speicher XIa. We want to focus on the planning and realization of spatial light and sound, create artistic and experimental setups and include the useage of professional media technology. The course consists of monthly appointments of the three joint courses, as well as an intensive working block (probably August and September), as well as construction and set-up before the performance (probably mid-October).
