Critical media theory observes the dramatically increasing importance of media, technologies, software, and self-aware and autonomous entities and processes in our lives. Society and economy increasingly involve the co-existence of human and “post-human” actors. Humans are themselves also becoming “posthuman.” Posthuman media theories are connected to ecological perspectives, since they question the “anthropocentrism” that has supported our emphasis on production and the domination of nature. Posthuman media theories are also connected to feminism, queer theory, and post-colonialism, since they question the definitions of gender, sexuality, race, and nation. And what is the relationship of posthumanism to transmedia and digital media design?
Die kritische Medientheorie beobachtet die dramatisch gestiegene Bedeutung von Medien, Technologien, Software und Ich-bewussten und autonomen Entitäten und Prozessen in unserem Leben. Gesellschaft und Wirtschaft haben immer mehr zu tun mit der Auseinandersetzung zwischen menschlichen und „posthumanen“ Akteuren. Auch die Menschen werden selbst "posthuman". Posthumane Medientheorien sind mit ökologischen Perspektiven verbunden, da sie den "Anthropozentrismus" in Frage stellen, der unsere Betonung auf industrielle Produktion und der Beherrschung der Natur unterstützt hat. Posthumane Medientheorien sind auch mit Feminismus, Queer-Theorie und Postkolonialismus verbunden, da sie die Definitionen von Geschlecht, Sexualität, Rasse und Nation in Frage stellen. Und wie ist das Verhältnis von Posthumanismus zu transmedialer Gestaltung und Digital Media Design?
Given the current situation of online long distance learning, half of the teaching each week will be done with a pre-recorded lecture of about 90 minutes. I will upload the pre-recorded lecture to ARTIST, which the individual student can watch when he/she wants. The lecture is a .PPTX presentation with text and inserted audio and video files. The other half of the time of the seminar is a live TEAMS session. We will divide into two groups of 12 and 13 students and have two 90-minute live sessions, one group meeting from 14:00 to 15:30, the other group 16:00 to 17:30.
