Veranstaltungsbeschreibung: Moving images are more and more omni present in our daily lives and their styles and aesthetics change as fast as never before. In the course you should develop your own experimental animations at the intersection of moving images, digital technology and aesthetics, individually or in small groups. They can be done in new or unexpected ways, they can leave linear rectangle of a classical video and become interactive, in context with their environment or redefine classical formats of storytelling. You can develop new approaches to create moving images, re-use existing methods to bring images in motion, have them driven by code or data, created under the influence of neural networks and similar technologies or even create moving apparatuses and installations. During the course, we want to analyze new developments and tendencies in contemporary animation, and also look at the history of moving images in general and "Expanded Cinema", Video Art and Experimental Animation in particular. Some previous knowledge of animation techniques is welcome, but no prerequisite. During the course we will have various skill workshops on specific technologies, methods and exchange about inspiring topics, styles and people. The course will be mainly taught in english. Students from Integrated Design or Fine Arts are very welcome as well. If you are not fluent in English or have doubts about ECTS, we will try to find a solution.
